Taming of a Sioux
by Peggy DePuydt ISBN: 978-1932993-93-6
Adult Fiction
568 pages - $24.99
A moving novel about Sioux Indian culture in a Whiteman’s world, The Taming of A Sioux is the story of an
innocent child, Abednego Fabian Miereau, caught between village lairs and lions. Plunged into early years of turmoil and anguish,
he confronts life by seeking relationships that mentor him along life’s path. Blessed with an eidetic memory and superior
artistic values, he yet has hazy learning capabilities, but manages to triumph through extra sensory powers endowed by his
great, great Grandfather, Crazy Horse, the Great Plains Warrior.
Abe is a complex and compelling hero who faces a series of life-shattering decisions from which he learns to expect the
unexpected. As he battles for the love of his life-long friend, Sarah, he comes to understand how delicate life is and how
it can be made sturdy by opening his heart to the advice of iconic powers that influence his life. But there is still one
burning secret that Sarah hides from Abe, knowing its revelation will destroy the love they have come to cherish.
The Taming of A Sioux sweeps from the confines of a small timber town in Michigan’s Upper Peninsula (Nahma) to All
American football glory at the University of Michigan (Ann Arbor), to record setting performance with the Green Bay Packers,
to the social register of British Artistic Museums. Abe plays a central role in a life-long drama that bumps and bruises its
way through the pits of despair to the heights of success and ecstasy.

Havasu Heat by Peggy DePuydt ISBN: 1-932993-32-0 Detective/Adventure/Romance 416 pages - $19.95
Police Detective driven
Action takes place on the Bridgewater Channel in Lake Havasu City, Arizona.
The Bridgewater Channel is created by waters from Lake Havasu being diverted through three miles of dredged land, thus creating
an island on the other side of the London Bridge.
The South Colorado River Drug Cartel has moved in and taken over the river
drug trade all the way north to Bull Head City. These people are ruthless and cunning. Six murders are committed
in ten months due to their unconscionable greed.
On the east bank of the Channel sits many, varying shops. They’re
all built in the style of Charles Dickens Christmas Carole. The Channel is teeming with boats and scantily-clad visitors most
of the time, sometimes numbering 20,000 plus. It is drug pusher heaven.
After extensive investigation and subterfuge, the cartel’s warehouse
is discovered spelling doomsday for the underworld. The good guys win, but not before a policeman is killed in the line of
duty, a heart is broken by rejection, and betrayal looms over all.
